** NEWLY EXPANDED YARD CARE SERVICE **

We are pleased to announce that we've revamped our yard care service!
With the help of our new yard care specialist Joel, we're ready to
tackle projects large and small in the Northampton area. We use only
human powered tools, transported by bicycle, and we don't use harsh
chemicals. Mowing, planting, planning, mulching, weeding, raking,
hauling, compost bin and raised bed construction -- we can help with
any of these chores. More information:

** SPECIAL SUMMER CONSIDERATIONS **

As the summer heats up, we often try to start our routes as early as
possible to avoid the mid-day sun. Please remember to have your trash
and recycling out by 8 am so that we don't miss it.

Also, if you don't already have compost service with us, summer is a
great time to start. Putting food waste in the compost helps keep
animals and flies away from your garbage bin, and keeps the smell
down. Compost service is free for our customers who already have trash
& recycling service with us. Contact us and we can sign you up.

** EXPANDED COMPOST SERVICE **

Through our partnership with the City of Northampton, we are now
accepting many more items for composting, including meat, dairy, and
non-recyclable paper and cardboard. Here's our new flyer with the
complete list:

** CITY BAG DISCOUNT INCREASE **

The City of Northampton now requires that all trash disposed of at the
Locust St. Transfer Center be placed in blue "SMART" bags, which are
available for purchase at area stores. Depending on your location, we
bring trash & recycling to this city transfer center or to Valley
Recycling. We now offer a 22% discount (up from 15%) if you use these
bags instead, but only if we bring your trash to Locust St.

Please see this page on our website to see if your location requires
we use SMART bags for your trash and to sign up for the discount:

** CROSS COUNTRY CLIMATE MARCH **

We recently helped advise a very inspiring group of climate activists
about the use of bicycle trailers for a remarkable cross country march
that they will be embarking on early next year. Theirs seemed to be a
message worth spreading: "On March 1, 2014, 1,000 climate patriots
will set-out from Los Angeles, CA, walking 2,980 miles across America
to Washington, DC, inspiring and motivating the general public and
elected officials to act now to address the climate crisis. This will
be the largest coast-to-coast march in American history."
